Eight people killed in Bangkok by the explosion of World War II bomb

War Diary.-11/04/2014.-Eight people were killed and twenty injured in the tragic explosion of a World War II bomb in a scrap shop of Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

The incident occurred last week in Bang Khen district when a bomb of 225 kilos in weight, one meter in length and 30 centimeters in diameter caused the total destruction of the store, a crater eight feet long and three depth and a fire of great proportions, reports 'The Bangkok Post' . Police added that about 30 houses located in the vicinity were damaged .

A construction worker found a bomb in a place close to the scrap shop and sold there as a scrap metal without knowing it was a bomb. One of the store employees tried to open it with a torch, causing terrible explosion .

The junkyard was open a few years ago but still permits available. Bangkok received airstrikes 1944.
